Bredonborough New reading a recommendation

19.33

Bredonborough.

New reading: a recommendation from Anthony Blake

- Mary DouglasThinking In Circles (Yale 2007).

The electrician is coming here tomorrow at 08.00, to find why one particular circuit keeps jumping out, so I am remaining in Bredonborough to meet him, instead of driving South to DGM HQ.

Good to live & work in the same immediate locale; as in the beginning years of DGM. For one whose work has kept them traveling consistently & regularly for 38 years, if frequent-travelling is viewed increasingly as an ecological crime & carbon-unfriendly, well, I’ll be really really happy to stay at home (although preferably with reliable broadband). There is so much richness to be explored within a small area that home, World HQ & Bredonborough are already three small areas with a plurality of sufficiencies for me.

What’s that on the top shelf of those free-standing bookshelves?...

Edith Greene is in the middle on the right, distinguished by the tie & braces. This would have been about the time she was awarded the Certificate of Merit for her lecture on the evils of alcohol.

Now, on the wall below her Grandmother & Great Grandfather…
